Efficiency of «Nornicocin» for the treatment of bacterial ethiology in dogs

Abstract

The article presents the results of efficacy study of the drug "Nornicocin" (a water-soluble powder for oral use) for the treatment of bacterial etiology diseases in dogs.

It was established that the treatment of infected arthritis with the veterinary medicinal product "Nornicocin" improved the general condition of the dogs, the swelling around the joints and their soreness on palpation disappeared, the lameness that stopped after 7-8 days treatment, the hematological parameters were normal. Clinical examination of the animals at day 14 from the start of treatment revealed no symptoms of the disease. Side effects and effects of antimicrobial therapy and disease recurrence were not observed for one month after treatment in experimental dogs.

In the treatment of acute intestinal infection (enteritis) with the drug «Nornicocin» in dogs on the 7th day hematological parameters were normalized, and on the 10th day there were no symptoms of the disease. The results of the study proved that the drug «Nornicocin», given orally with drinking water at a dose of 25 mg of the drug per 1 kg of body weight per day for 5 days, did not adversely affect the homeostasis of the animal body, did not cause any manifestations of side effects during and after treatment. The drug «Nornicocin» (a water-soluble powder for oral use), manufactured by PJSC «Technolog» (Ukraine), according to the manufacturer's recommended dosage and method of administration, is an effective chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of bacterial infections in dogs caused by strains of microorganisms susceptible to norfloxacin.
