Effect of drinking of acidifier “Aquasan” on the performance of chicken broilers

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the influence of the use of the new acidifier «Aquasan» on the performance of chicken broilers. The research was conducted on three groups of chicken broilers of breed Ross 308 with 20 heads in each. Chickens in the control group received only mixed feed. Broilers in the second experimental group, in addition to a full-fledged mixed feed, from the 27th day were drunk with liquid acidifier «FEEDACID MAX L», and in the third experimental group – the new acidifier «Aquasan» at a rate of 1 litter per 1 ton of water.

It was found that the highest rates of live weight of chickens were observed in the third experimental group with drinking of acidifier «Aquasan». By the 21st day of culture for the same type of feeding, the weight of chickens did not differ in the control and experimental groups. Starting from the 27th day of drinking of acidifier «Aquasan», an increase in live weight of broilers was observed up to 42 days of culture. Thus, at 35th day the weight of chickens of group III increased by 100.8 g (p≤0.05), and at 42nd day – by 245.8 g (p≤0.01), as compared to the control group (first group). A similar increase in the live weight of chickens was observed in experimental group II at the drinking of liquid acidifier «Feedacid Max L» at 35th day of culture by 29.6 g (p≤0.05) and at 42nd day – by 130.2 g (p≤0.01), compared with the control group.

During the growing period of 29–35 and 36–42 day, during the application of acidifier «Aquasan», average daily increments per week increased by 13.8 (p≤0.05) and 20.7 g (p≤0.01), respectively with the control group. The best conversion rates of feed were observed in the III group of chickens at the drinking of acidifier «Aquasan». In this group, the consumption of feed per 1 kg of live weight of chickens after application of acidifier from 27th day to the fifth week (29–35 day) decreased by 90 g (p≤0.05), and in the sixth week (36–42 days) of culture – by 150 g (p≤0.01), compared with chickens in the control group. On average, in the III experimental group of chickens, feed costs were reduced by 110 g (p≤0.01), compared with the control group.

Consequently, the results of the research indicate that the use of acidifier «Aquasan» stimulates the processes of digestion, assimilation of nutrients and, as a result, promotes the growth of live weight of chicken broilers, increases their meat productivity and reduces feed costs by 1 kg of live weight gain.
